A Time Comes - trailer
Director Nick Broomfield has made a 20 minute film celebrating the spirit of direct action. This Bright Green Pictures film tells the story of the Kingsnorth Six, a group of volunteers who scaled the 220m chimney at a coal fired power station in Kent in 2007 to protest against government plans to build new coal plants across Britain. The film premiers on http://www.guardian.com on May 31st and will premier on YouTube June1st. The film features the music of Nick Laird-Clowes performed by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd amoung others.

Investigation of Policing at Climate Camp 2008
The harassment and exclusion of legal observers, the violent arrest of women refusing to be searched, the aggressive interrogation of local residents, the threatening of journalists with arrest for doing their job, the confiscation of 100s of items such as childrens' costumes and crayons, attempted dawn raids on the camp, the use of batons and CS gas against peaceful protesters, and the forced search of 1000s of people and the adding of their personal data to a secret database. Flashmob RBS and E-On Recruitment Stalls
Over 50 Manchester students staged a flash mob demonstration at the RBS and E.On Recruitments stalls on Thursday 23rd October 2008. The group were protesting against the banks funding of climate chaos and against E.Ons plans to build a new coal power station at Kingsnorth. At precisely 1pm, loose coal was dumped on the Royal Bank of Scotland and E-On recruitment stalls. Meanwhile, around 50 demonstrators stripped off their jackets to reveal bright yellow t-shirts with the words, LEAVE IT IN THE GROUND emblazoned across their chests. A list of RBS environmental crimes was then read out to prospective employees attending the recruitment fair at Manchester Central (GMEX) convention centre. [4] Some of the group were then forcibly ejected by security guards whilst others moved on to pay a visit to the E-On recruitment stall. E-On were questioned as to how their plans for a new coal fired power station squared with our commitment to reduce CO2 levels. Toby Brett, 19, physics student at the University of Manchester says, RBS, formerly priding itself on being the oil and gas bank, vastly outstrips all other UK banks in terms of funding climate change. In fact RBS investments emit more carbon dioxide per year than the whole of Scotland.[6] Whilst I commend them for investing in renewable forms of energy as well as fossil fuels the two simply do not cancel out. We are calling for an immediate halt to highly destructive investment such as in tar sands extraction and a swift switch to renewables. Quite frankly the world cannot wait. Marina Gerner, 20, Politics, Philosophy and Economics student and campaigns secretary at the University of Manchesters Students Union says, Coal is the dirtiest, most emissions intensive of fossil fuels and it is outrageous to see how our banks invest in it.

After teaching her pupils about global warming, Lowanna decided she couldn't risk damaging the climate by flying home to Australia. With her partner Kevin, the couple travel the 12,000km to Sydney using only sustainable transport- the train, bicycle and cargo ship.
Pedalling through 16 countries over 485 days, the couple joined in Car Free day in Italy,escaped arrest in Iran,got groped in Pakistan and fell ill in India. Their journey brought them through storm ravaged forests in France, torrential downpours in the Mediterranean and severe drought in Iran.The effects of Climate Change could be seen everywhere they went.

The world's smallest campaigners strike
One inch high activists have shut down Kingsnorth coal-fired power station. The drama unfolded at E.ON's replica of the plant at Legoland (sponsored by E.ON) while people at Climate Camp protest the planned new coal plant at Kingsnorth. Lego police were in attendance, along with a Lego police helicopter - but neither the campaigners nor the police would comment...
